Myspace Spam

I’m really over the spam of fake accounts trying to get me to sign up for some adult web site. I mean really 5 friend requests from different names all of which apparently lost a bet to someone named Mike and now have to display their nude pictures online for a week. This Mike guy is quite the gambler.

Now I’m getting long winded philosophical friend invites with links to fling.com which has on its front page an eloquent 3 step procedure which ends with 3) Get Laid. Well certainly I’m all for giving geekdom hope at that elusive 3rd step but perhaps they could hire real people to spread the word about their services instead of just luring unsuspecting myspace users into clicking on a link that is decidedly NSFW!

It is amusing that they are no longer even bothering to create profiles with a picture of themselves. Too difficult to randomize the pictures? What?

Oh well, I have to go now and see what fun links “Alyssa” has for me in her profile.

I am, at heart, a software developer though I am currently managing a small Information Technology department for a mid sized company located in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL. When I am not playing with the latest smart-phone or trying to become inspired to write code I read almost anything I can get my hands on from Pulp Era adventures to biographies of world leaders and everything in between.

  1. I have been lucky and haven’t gotten them much lately. But maybe they target men more *shrug*
