One of the biggest surprises of the new television season for me has been NBC’s Heroes. Its a fascinating series about a group of people who are discovering they have special powers. There is an approaching crisis and only these special people can stop it, unfortunately they don’t know about each other or their importance to the world..but they are slowly finding out.

There is the cheerleader who heals herself instantly from any injury, there is the painter who paints the future, the Japanese office worker who can bend time and space, a woman who seems to have a violent Hulk like alter ego. There is also a mysterious serial killer who seems to have powerful abilities and a shadowy group who is trying to track down the heroes.

For a life long addict of Sci Fi stories and comic books this series is like catnip to a cat! If you haven’t seen it yet check it out!

I am, at heart, a software developer though I am currently managing a small Information Technology department for a mid sized company located in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL. When I am not playing with the latest smart-phone or trying to become inspired to write code I read almost anything I can get my hands on from Pulp Era adventures to biographies of world leaders and everything in between.

  1. Save the cheerleader, save the world.

I agree, this show came as a real surprise to me but has become one of my favorites.

  2. I hadn’t heard anything about it until just before the fall season began. I was reading the TV Guide Fall Preview edition and stumbled across it and couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard anything about it. I was even more surprised and elated to find that it was one of the seasons breakout hits.

And my favorite character to this point is Hiro. His enthusiasim and energy is addictive.
