Alpha Technology Fun! Except when its not!

Somehow I always seem to have to have the latest and greatest technology. From the being one of the first to download the new Internet Explorer 7 to being one of the first to own the new Motorola Q smartphone. Its a love hate relationship I have with technology.

I can’t wait to get new things but then I get frustrated when they don’t work. It isn’t as if I am unreasable in my expectations about new software and hardware. I understand fully that new technology has to be worked on a bit before everything works just right and that brand new hardware platforms take a while to get software support. I know it, I expect it but I still get frustrated.

The Motorola Q is a prime example. I am happy with it but frustrated that the software (both the OS and third party support) is weak yet. (It was released 6 days ago :D) I expect my old EReader software to work even though I know that it has never been run on this platform more than likely and I can’t expect the makers of the software to run right out and support every smartphone that comes out on the market but I want it to be true none the less.

Oh well back to installing ActiveSync 4.2 beta.

I am, at heart, a software developer though I am currently managing a small Information Technology department for a mid sized company located in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL. When I am not playing with the latest smart-phone or trying to become inspired to write code I read almost anything I can get my hands on from Pulp Era adventures to biographies of world leaders and everything in between.

  1. I’m sorry your ereader doesn’t work. At least you didn’t have to do a master reset the first day! *pout*

Razor edge technology…sometimes you are gonna get cut.

  2. No I haven’t completely trashed it yet. There is still plenty of time for that.
